I'm thinking I'd like the type a little bigger in relation to the logo though, since the condensed font makes it a little harder to read at a smaller size.

Thanks... we've ended up using a horizontal version in most places, with the mark to the left of the type and balanced a little better, for the very reasons you mentioned.
