The Hampton Inn similarity doesn't bother me because they're in a completely different industry than your client. I like the logo overall. It's clean and simple and you get the concept immediately. My only comment is...have you considered making the leaf slightly larger? I know that it's creating the crossbar of the "f", but it looks just a little bit lost in that field of purple. Just a thought.
