This option is the most fiendly/approachable of the 2 options by a long margin.

With that said, the other has a clear 'shopping' element with the shopping bag - At quick glance, this could be seen as a gardening app (for example).

Actually i am also confused with the same thought. gardening app is a ne angle to it :) any suggestion to improvise.

What if you rendered the other concept the same way you've approached this? That way you've got the friendly/approachable vibe with the cohesive bag/plant idea.
