Roy I guess? I think any country could be associated with that though. I don't think it's as much of a negative connotation as it might have been in the past though.

Rising Sun Flag (Present-day perception)

Although I think it's reasonable to be concerned of images with a dark past, it would be fair to say that there are probably some areas of the world that would take offence to a logo featuring stars & stripes or a Union Jack, but (as Mike stated) We were once at war with likes of Germany & Japan, now they're business partners, Afganistan, etc. may well be too down the road. Does it 'shout' the rising sun flag though? In monochrome black that connection would be lost, the Macedonian flag has a similar design (see link);

The besieging grudge matches between China and Japan stemming from their short but horrific regime of China right up to the Pinnacle Island debacle are honestly imo tiresome. Not dissimilar to the ridiculous 'violent film review' of a Bgrade movie by a selective group of over sensitive Muslims. The extremist protesters be they anti or pro would grab any chance they get to express their views.

My ancestors went through the horrors of the Nanking Massacre but let history be history. The origins of the Rising Sun was never intended for aggression or evil. Being Chinese, I'm not inclined to printing out this logo and burning it any time soon. Or anytime for that matter.

They BURN MY USA flag!!! But I still will design with Red white and blue and stars and stripes!. I guess it all depends on your target audience. I don't get my panties in a bunch about it. Funny how just a COLOR can make a major difference.

People getting stuck on something that can easily be changed to make a big difference. Imagine your Color Blind??? who would you see it???

Very true Mike. It all comes down to the target demographics. I'm sure my great grandparents or their offspring (may they rest in peace) will be interested in anything to do with a CRM business in automation.

ON TOPICS OTHER THAN JAPANESE FLAGS AND COLOR:

I noticed the beams are slightly staggered on the vertical axis, didn't know if that was offset on purpose to balance it out or not, but I get distracted with it. Also, the top three beams have an illusion to extend farther out than the beams on the side(even though I know they end on the same point line). Just my vision.

Yesterday I asked a Japanese friend! She said that this symbolism is very positive for japan! But for some Chinese is considered offensive! Only for a few! It's not as strong as you think... :)
