^ Because it's an distracting element to put it between the middle letters, from thumbnail it looks like oliv-dot-e, it would be better if you put the under the leg of e, or somwhere at the end of the type. As Florin said nice type!

I will tell you a secret - put it there to avoid "holes" in between the letters "v" and "e" :)

agree with florin and milosz, its not about understanding the sign but its understanding the position. Reads oliv.e no matter what.
