Great use of details here. The website looks great too. Did you design it? While I like the abstract icon, I'm curious to know more about it. Care to elaborate?

Yes the logo and website were both designed by myself at Egg Design Group. The icon has a couple of meanings. It depicts beer as it swishes in the bottom of a glass. The icon is also used to represent the mix of elements used in the brewing process. The mash of ingredients combining to create the unique Mash flavour.

The symbol/icon looks more like a flame to me, and I don't think it works well. The typeography or type treatment I do like however.

I take your point shangeg and agree that the mark may be interpretted as a flame. We discussed this at great length during the branding process and together with the client, recognised that this wasn't necessarily a 'bad' thing. The logo can be interpretted in many different ways which makes it more interesting. The brewery has been in existence for over a year at their Swan Valley premises. The branding is instantly recognisable as 'MASH'. As the company prepares for their first shipment of bottled beer, we have fingers crossed that the individuality of the brand will cross over to a retail market. Thanks for the feedback. : )

hey i live just around the corner from Mash. i also work for lamonts. weird :S nice work on the logo & website. good to see some quality design coming out of perth.
