Description: WIP - Logo for a not for profit dog rescue shelter that helps place dogs, that have been injured, in homes with the hopes of a full recovery. Still ironing out the negative space kinks, so please, comment away.

Great concept, but the hand looks a bit menacing instead of helpful. Not sure how that could be remedied though.

Thanks for the comments Sam. Coming from the guy that has a hand for his avatar, I assume you know what you are talking about:) I'll see what I can do to "friendly" up the hand a bit. Thanks again.

Yea really super concept! perhaps try rotating the whole thing clockwise and delete the upper left finger sticking out?
