it's a pirate-themed bar..the joke is that the owner is so mean, she was probably like a pirate since her younger years. the story comes from famous pirate named anne bonnie, blackbeard's mate. she had no need to be a pirate ( she was from a wealthy family), but did it for the love of violence. she escaped when finally caught, to never be heard from again. some tales tell of a mrs. bergins, in the caribbean. living life a little more discreetly, yet not quite fully legal.
