David, I'm not sure if I understood your comment about removal.
First of all the client left this project in the middle of my work so there aren't any communities and links to. The second thing is I just created the logo not community so I don't see any issues with that and my work doesn't bear any harm to Logopond that I respect much. Thank you for your comment!

Why would you remove this? If you want to change something then change the description and say it's for a house restoration company or something. So what if you don't agree with the content? There are thousands of logos on here for beer companies. Do you support alcoholism? Removal of any logo makes the site completely subjective, which shouldn't be the idea of a community pond.

Also if I remove the description how can anybody think it's for support of any competitors or advertise anything standing against the Logopond. Or it's just a matter of principle? Sorry if it sounds rough. I just wanna try something I missunderstand.

Believe me, I'm as against these kind of design contests as much as you are. And I mean no disrespect to you. However, the idea of a logo being good or worthy to one person - completely subjective - is just as threatening to designers because they start designing to please an individual. Great logos can easily get passed up while bad ones are praised (I'm not questioning your judgement here). A logo's ultimate success is based upon it's success with the masses; not it's success with an individual. I understand that it's your site and it works your way and this and that. I'm just trying to make a point. The alcohol thing was just the first thing that came to mind. This logo in question (because it was posted here and not in it's intended setting) is not advertising anything other than it's visual appeal. Just as the beer logos are not advertising beer, the flower logos are not advertising flowers, etc. We are advertising our work. Because it is in a logo showcase setting, the content of the logos are merely contextual backup for the visuals. Again, not trying to have a go at you or your site. This is just my view here.

I agree with David here. I think any reference to spec or crowdsourcing should be excised from Logopond. Besides, his site, his rules.

Personal issue - as for designing to please one person, the client, oh how horrible! Sometimes designers are like doctors who don't listen to their patients and prescribe what they want. Sometimes to the harm of the patient/client. Just sayin.

Trish I see no connection between your "designers who don't listen their patients" and the subject we discussing here. Also your "just saying" something just on the air. Do you see now anything referencing or crowdsourcing?

how can you put a logo in the gallery with such a vague description?!???? I'M KIDDING!! haha! Let me apologize. All this talk and i haven't said anything about the logo itself yet. It is nicely done and has a great feel. The only thing i'd work on is that R-e interaction. It kicks the 'e' up a little bit, messing with the baseline (Baseline = home turf. not a good idea to fudge with that, even if it is with calligraphy)
