Curious on what feeling you get from this font? Love some feed back. thanks. :)
ReplyI'm feeling simply good calligraphy
ReplyI'm getting a Disney feel from it...
Replythanks for the compliment, Alena.*And nido, I can live with a Disney feel. I guess as long as it isn't too close. I wanted to project fun, entertaining and yet have a class of professionalism to it. hopefully its close.
Reply%5Ethat's OK if you're OK with it... I hope you did not take that in any other way than me just responding (with the first %22feeling%22 I got from it) to your initial post... **%22I wanted to project fun, entertaining and yet have a class of professionalism to it. hopefully its close. %22**Yeah.. it's close... but again, and not to sound impertinent but... they are similar qualities to what Disney would like to project too...**ok... enough with the Disney now.
Replynido, I like the fact you gave me your honest first response, that's what I was looking for, so thank you.
Reply%5Ephew... well... you're welcome.
Reply:))) nido, ya kill me, in a good way. thanks for he feed back really.
Replyvery nice mikey :)
ReplyVery good typography, :)
Replythanks, mh and you also Davi.*And thanks for gallery post. :)
ReplyVery nice, Mike. It does have a certain %22festive%22 quality to it. Has the client seen it yet?
ReplyCuriously, I compared the two... I see what nido saw perhaps your looped adds to the association. Your logo is tight, clean and fits the bill. **I've never really looked at the Disney logo critically before. **Wonderful job, I hope the client agrees. Glad it made gallery!
Replythanks Ashley for the nice comment.*@ Sean, no the client has not seen this yet. I was to have a meeting this week with them, but they have put everything on hold until they have some research done. thought I would do some of my own research and place it on LP and see what response I get. Feels good so far. :)
ReplyLove it :)
ReplyOverall your design looks good but feels uneasy. The 'n' is too heavy and breaks the flow somewhat. Also you have texture in the t's cross, should you not place a little texture elsewhere? or drop the texture altogether?
ReplyThe over all effect has an artist's signature feel to it. I guess the company's name is 'Minot'. I don't get how the typography relates to a bureau except from being a signature of authority?
ReplyI like it, nice font.
Replythanks for the comments, electronicink and you too logostage.
ReplyIs this referring to my home town of Minot or something else!?
Replyas long as that's Minot, ND, then yes.
ReplySorry I should have clarified that. Yes, ND. Nice work by the way.*Are you from Minot?
ReplyNo, I am not from Minot. Closer to Bismarck. But our agency is working with a group in Minot on this logo development.*I am actually now living in Coeur d'Alene, ID. But I am still a partner in the agency back in Bismarck.*thanks for the comment, Jordan.
Replysorry, forgot to ask, where you at? Still in Minot?
ReplyTo me this looks unbalanced, like a mix of techniques (reminding of a brush, ballpoint pen and ink) that don't go well together. The perfectly round i-dot doesn't seem to fit in with the dynamic T-crossbar. There's no organic feel to it, because some elements seem to say: casual handwriting while others look like ornamentation. E.g. the start of the M looks like someone is pausing before beginning the arc, as if painting a huge sign or billboard. Especially the %22i%22 doesn't blend in. It looks to me like it's from a premade (italic) font while the rest is upright.
Replyappreciate the comments, barry. I will certainly keep the suggestions in mind as the client moves forward. everything is hold as now, so I know I still have some cleaning up to do. cheers.
ReplyNo I moved away from Minot after highschool. I am currently in Minneapolis working for an interactive agency. gokartlabs.com
ReplyJust checked out the site. You got some nice stuff going on. very cool. I'm sure you get back to ND once in a while. keeps ya sane. :)
