Interesting logo. THe "V" and "A" are very apparent but I think the sizing of it in relation to the type is not balanced. Also, the icon end look a bit sharp. Since it's for an artist would it make sense to maybe make the icon out of brush strokes or something a bit more organic and less harsh. I like the concept though...

I really like the shape and simplicity, but is too sharp, aggressive. Why don't you play with the sharp thin endings? The colors are very elegant! About the brush strokes ahab suggested, it depends on the artist's personality u know him we don't, but personal taste I like the fine lines you used.

Gorgeous mark. If there was a way to subtly bring up the weight of the type versus the mark, it would really put it over the top. I actually like the 'sharpness'. It's a subtle invitation into the artist's work without smoothing out all the edges.
