i took it as the ability or willingness to look at a very classic shape/icon and rethink it. strong concept for an ad agency.

Yeah, very nice. I thought it was like an apple/ice-cube hybrid. The bite out of it almost looks like one of those silhouette face/candle stick things. But mostly an ice cube. Very nice work, there's a lot in that logo.
