As a whole it's great (though for my own private taste too detailed for a logo, e.g. the single hairs standing in all directions), except of course for the ear. I think you can simply reverse the color or use a single white line and the viewer fill in the missing part without it being actually there.

As an illustration this is fab, though as a logo on it's own, i don't think its suitable. I think maybe a re-submit once it's a completed logo will be great. :)
