Oh, and one more thing, I like this BW version most of all 3! I think that like a book is written in Black text on White paper this logo should be done the same way ;-) to have right authentic feel.

Prsonally, I like having the notches there -- it makes me 'see' the pen nub, no offense logomotive. If it wasn't there, some people might think the nub is just a cord, for a windowshade under the curtains. I like it as-is.

@jf, to each their own but I like the aha factor an we see it as a nib OR curtain pulled back regardless. My thought was that curtains don't naturally have a "notch" and neither does a pen, well at least the ones I use. Nice regardless.

not trying to discredit anything here tabitha only offering my opinion. Just one little distraction IMO that does not need to be there. The nib is smaller than the base,therefore the flare is not needed? hope that makes some sense.

This is beautiful and well executed. Have to admit my first reaction, before reading the comments, was that the notches weren't needed. The pun is more subtle without them. But a beauty none the less.

nice idea... although that white bar 3/4 of the way down is not at all necessary... Would look more like a window/curtain while retaining the pen without it.
