^Agree. Looks better on black imo. Only one tweak I would consider. Instead of overlapping the middle flames with opacity changes(where you get that dark diamond), maybe have the one on the left clearly overlap with full opacity to aid in that sculptural feel. Hope that makes sense.
Client got the logo designed out of metal, with blended paints. I can more easily answer the question of "will it work with gradients and transparencies?" Yes, and much more.
