Awful and negative, hmmm go to the website. Those descriptions encompass what the logo is about and personally I dont mind it obviously something which will cause controvesy but its istantly recognisable and quite distinct, and i understand the need for a logo such as this if you look on the web http://www.no-spec.com/
its what it is ....advisory and a warning so good job i say from me... attention it wants attention it will get

Far from "constructive(?)" criticism of unnecessary comments like ugly, negative, and awful, this logo is incredibly representative of what it stands for and has already established a worldwide presence as the symbol for the NO!SPEC movement - an important issue all design professionals need to take notice of, recognize and adopt as their own cause. As a logo I think it is much more successful without the URL - but that has been an important element in directing designers, clients and others to the educational site.

Better put than me, Mr Fisher and in total agreement with you. Its easy to judge but far more difficult to comprehend in some cases.

agreed w/ Jeff and Kaimere - this logo is everything it needs to be. it's clip art-esq grabbed my attention when it was first posted, and did a great job getting me over to the site!

I think this logo is fine. You all who have written negative comments have CLEARLY taken it out of its context. You should probably go and check out the site before you unabashedly trash his logo.

I think it's perfect for the solution you were seeking.

Wow.. it's been a little while since I had a look through here... I very much appreciate those who stood up for it... it's not meant to be "pretty" - it is very much a form/function over style.. it has a big specific job to do.. and I am pleased to say it looks like it's doing it's job well!!! The whole intention is to make designers STOP! think about what you're about to do entering that contest etc... while some may say it is ugly - I feel it's probably my best work to date and probably the most important! thanks again.

I do agree with the previous posters such as Jeff about it doing it's job well, and being attention grabbing. One thing I will say though is that perhaps if it was more aesthetically pleasing more designers would be prepared to take up the cause, and put this logo on their own portfolio sites.

"it is very much a form/function over style" but within the context of 'designers' as hellosmithy has pointed out, style/aesthetics is a function, that here isn't being addressed.
