@Chas Sanderson - Thanks for the input Chad! :) I actually thought this guy was a little 'too' obvious, thus the alternative direction...go figure. This came 1st though...usually the best option. ;)
@logocrave - I hear ya. ;) Kind of what I going for to some degree... Somewhere between a spring and a ribbon if you will. I think it's about as abstract as I dared to take it. Of course I can see how you'd get the spring in there, but if you look at it a minute longer, I think the HIVE ends up playing through. There's clearly still some tweaking left to do, and I'm certainly open to suggestions... Appreciate the comment! :)

Have you tried extending the line to end in an arch? (more like a beehive) That might eliminate the spring look.
@muse7 - **OK...so real quick update on this guy...let me know if this was kind of what you had in mind..?

you want my feedback - ahhh blush. Ok, yes basically this is what I had in mind. Although the curve is a bit off center. Make sure the center of the curved top piece matches up with the center of the rest of the structure. **instant gratification.

Just found out this guy's going to be featured in LogoLounge's
"Shapes and Symbols", the 3rd book in the new 'Master Library' series! :)
