honestly, i love this mark. unfortunately, it's a million miles away from my original intentions. i'm trying to develop something that plays with my last name (tarte) while incorporating symbols and elements representing my work/style, personality, and interest. initially i was playing with crown shapes (tarte = pie = pie tin ~ crown shape = classic & powerful) but all of a sudden this appeared and i'm loving it.
It is very unique and strong. Kinda reminds me of the "Volcom Stone", but is in no way related. I Dig it.

i first see the CMYK ink drops, then i see a tulip. i really like the look of this, but in all honesty, i think the last name meaning is a bit of a stretch.

@ stdmedia - thanks!
@amartinup - yeah, i've been calling the mark "cmyk tuplip" so i'm glad you saw the flower. i agree that the connection between my last name and crown in tenuous, but the original concept was a pie tin crown, so not that much of a stretch imo. this is only related to that idea insofar as the spikey tips.
