I actually read "Hatred" at first for some reason, but got "Haters" soon after

Yeah, I saw 'hatred' too at first sight. Far right line on the last letter is a little too thick; dominates, pulls the shape into more of a 'd' than an 's' imo. The mind is not prone to see the 's' as a result...and the rest of the letters follow these visual cues to make the letterforms appear, at least to me, as 'hatred'.
