Neither almosh or smashingmagazine invented this. I could post plenty of examples here of similar solutions (some even pre-computer).

Roy and Bojan I also respect and enjoy your work, but even if the logo was based on the tutorial, it shows that Shyam picked up the technique well and made a memorable logo with it.
