I really dig the concept and color scheme. Perhaps bring the type up a bit closer to the mark and tighten that gap?

I think designers are in the area of the splash dot on a canvas raja. I think this logo is cool also, but it is rather simple. having said that sometimes the extremely simple does work, alluding to smartinup's comment.

despite the fact this looks a lot like the other logo jay pointed out, i like it.

too many designers try to do too much with logos and end up making them distracting and gross.

this is easy to figure out, inviting, and has a clean colour scheme.

Simple concept, perhaps extend the cup handle to reach the edge of the saucer, forming a 'C' properly? Also, the word 'cafe' is a little hard to read on that background. But it's good so far

the mark and type seem a little too far apart, to a degree where they are becoming disassociated. the mark shape is akward. not sure what it is supposed to be. otherwise, clean and good choice of colors.

gthobbs, obviously I'm WAYYYY outnumbered here. But I've been asking myself the same thing. The type is minute and weak in comparison to the type and to be honest if you looked down at a cup of coffee you would never see the part of the handle. I know, I know, people will get it anyhow. ha just not my cup pf tea or java in this case.

I think at the time it was posted the site was newer and the people where a bit less discerning and as a concept it is strong, looking back at the execution, yeah you have some valid points, but its not always the pure astetics, this one just have a very homey coffee nice friendly feel to it. its very approachable and it references something a lot of people enjoy, i guess.

So, it's a top view of a cup on a coaster. Was the intent also to make a C? If so, then why didn't you actually make a C with the handle?

How about the "melody" part of the name, I don't see it.

if i made the "hanle" all the way through the "coaster" and made a C it would not look as a volume knob, which actually is the "melody" part :)

aye mate, you don't see the handle if you look at a cup from above, but if i made only two circles it would not make much sense, wouldn't it? :)
