this is the second time I've seen this style logo on this site and I'll say it again this is the sobe lizard for their 0 calorie drink, please look it up.

Also your tagging of this logo is wrong, it isn't client work if its for sale on incsrping... tagging it as client work isn't going to get in the gallery any faster than tagging it with what it truly is; for sale work.

IMO I don't think it looks like the Sobe Lizard at all. You could have also named this one EGGuana (see the egg).

@ClimaxDesigns Uh it says "In use by client" and this logo is in fact in use by client. It was sold and is being used by the person it was sold to.

It also doesn't resemble the Sobe lizards at all.

That's the drink but obviously that's not the lizard i was referring to as the owner of this site i don't make loosely or willy nilly accusations or references to peoples work if i don't have a solid background on, it yet alas i cannot find the imagery I was referring to. Its actually in one of their commercials, the lizard forms this exact shape only flipped the other way forming the zero for the zero calorie, now whether sobe has changed this in their ad or if its just some random artist piece solely for the commercial and has nothing to do with the brand Im not sure.

As far as it being tagged as client work because it sold is still not a 'proper' use of the tagging system, it was indeed not created for the use of a specific client, but rather a specific client purchased it after it was created, that clearly puts it in the realm of 'for sale' whether it 'sold' or not is all im saying no harm done.

@ClimaxDesigns I respect that you're the site owner and that you have an opinion, I really do. But, I've never seen anything from Sobe that looks even close to this. Also, I can't hardly tag this as "For Sale" when it's been sold to someone.

Sorry Tabitha, Sobe immediately popped into my head and the commercial David mentions. Sobe is not a small company. Your client may be at risk to be sued. You do them a disservice not to research this more. Especially when someone like David, who's reputation is impeccable, points it out.

Sorry Trish, it really isn't anything like the Sobe lizards. I DID in fact do my research and I know very well that Sobe isn't a small company. I don't live on Mars.

And I could argue a little further on a few points that you've mentioned but I would probably be banned so I'll stop right here.

Girl, we never said it was their logo. We only said the Sobi lizard had been used to make a 0 like the one you have above. Your logo could be considered derivative of the idea used in the commercial. The idea does not have to be a logo or trademarked for them to sue for copyright infringement. All they need to prove is they came up with the idea first and your design is derivative. That's it.

There may or may not be a case here, but if you do get sued (or your client) and lose, you'll lose what you've gained so far and it will take you twice as long to get back to the same place. We are trying to look out for you, not be mean.

For the record I like your design and execution, just be careful.

Ok not to be that guy (saying that a lot lately) but this is the further from Sobe than almost all other reptilian logos I've seen.

Heck, just google "Lizard logo" yourself. She would not ever get sued for this. There are a LOT of categorical difference between this logo and the rest of those/Sobe. Mostly, though, this logo is just much more clean than Sobe and others who opt for a more organic and natural style. This isn't even in the same ballpark.

This is a *great* logo. She's one of the few Brandstack designers with an imagination and to discredit her for this is ridiculous.

To be fair I did make an edict if you will to keep the comments pointed at the logo itself so Ive deleted some comments here to keep everything above board.

tabithakristen, my comments were made simply to make you aware of very similar usage of this graphic, take it or leave would be my advice. Being happy to have missed all the discussions here, as it happend before my time, I can concentrate on the logo itself. I just wonder: what happend to the after legs? Somehow my brain is missing them.
