Very subtle, Mr Hayes.

clever :-)

All part of my plan Mr. Smith ;)

Vikki; Thanks :)

How did I miss this..awesomenes

epsilon said on Jul. 10 '09

This is really good. Apart from the choice of colors :-)

Hayes Image said on Jul. 11 '09

Thanks guys!!

What flavor would you give it Alex? :)

epsilon said on Jul. 11 '09

They are just too close and make the type virtually impossible to read when the logo is scaled down. Anything with a bit more contrast would work better. Black on white, perhaps ? :)

Updated :)

Hayes Image said on Apr. 20 '10

To be featured in Logolounge Book 6 :)

lumo said on Jun. 22 '10

this is awesome

Hayes Image said on Jun. 22 '10

Thanks Guys!! I'm actually suprised that this one made the logolounge cut...Glad you dig it :)

itsgareth said on Jun. 22 '10

Yeah dude, this is great

JoePrince said on Jun. 22 '10

This has always been one of my favorite wordmarks Josh, sweeeeet!

Mikeymike said on Jun. 22 '10

diggin' this. very clever.

Hayes Image said on Jun. 22 '10

Thanks Gareth, Joe & AGM (anonymous gallery moderator). :)

I don't get the chance to do a lot of wordmarks or custom type in general, so I always enjoy being shoved off my comfort plateau...we never stop learning. :)

Hayes Image said on Jun. 22 '10

Thanks Mike :)

If anyone is wondering, the typeface used was Legacy Sans.

koodoz said on Jun. 22 '10

This is great.

birofunk said on Jun. 23 '10

great work Hayes!

Art Machine said on Jun. 23 '10

Jeez took me a long time to figure out what the sinking G and the nail mean. I just got it while typing this. Very nice, Hayes!

radhacelis said on Jun. 23 '10

this is great, but I think it will be easier to identify the G if it had the little vertical line on the G, dunno if you understand what I'm trying to explain :s. Still great job!

OcularInk said on Jun. 23 '10

Great one, Josh.

michaelspitz said on Jun. 23 '10

Great stuff buddy!

levelb said on Jun. 23 '10

Very cool. I "dig" it! :-)

oronoz ® said on Jun. 23 '10

Fantastico!!

Hayes Image said on Jun. 23 '10

Thanks everybody :D

@ Julian: That's the effect I wanted :) wait for it, wait for it, ka-bow.

@ Radhacelis: An extra crossbar you mean? Like the crease you get in a typical shovel? If so, interesting thought :)

@ levelb; Funny stuff :) Glad people like what I'm shoveling :P

cerise said on Jun. 23 '10

I meant to comment on this earlier, great solution (clever)

ethereal said on Jun. 23 '10

Yep, I remember this, quite clever!

Hayes Image said on Jun. 24 '10

Thank you Craig & Sean, I'm still spun out about this being in logolounge 6, it still (to me) seems to be the opposite to what they go for...

radhacelis said on Jun. 24 '10

yup, that !

ryanlynndesign said on Jun. 30 '10

Great! Did you try an option where the "G" is connected rather than broken up? I think that would help its readability.

Hayes Image said on Jul. 01 '10

Thanks guys! I did try both options, but they just seemed a bit 'off'...having the complete G letterform made it look a little tacked on.

Having the shovel 'dug into the ground' made it seem (for lack of a better word) more purposeful, like work in the garden has just begun. Thanks again :)

mabu said on Jul. 12 '10

ColinTierney said on Oct. 28 '11

man this is brilliant. still love this one.

Hayes Image said on Oct. 30 '11

Thanks Colin. It's to be able to use just type in some occaisions, typefacee characteristics can tell such a story in themselves.
