I like the idea with the fork and the "G", but i think you need to simplify the noodles on the fork (doesn't necessarily need to go in between the tines) and the leaf is out of place.

I love this except for the shadow and gradient on the leaf. that doesn't make sense. I'm also wanting to see an actual gondola, but that is me. move RESTAURANT to the left just a tiny bit. love this!
