The client has a German short-haired pointer, a breed that specialises in finding truffles under oak trees. The logo kind of designed itself.

I like this a lot, but I think there's no need for this distracting effect on the Y letter... This mark is too strong for this! Other than that, marvelous work!

@Type08: I felt the same way about the y but from time to time the client will use the name of the farm without the mark. For this reason they wanted an embellishment on the type to give it more character.

Great mark! The Y embellishment could be more effective if it had a similar balance/style to the rest of the type. It seems off for some reason. Maybe it needs some variance in the stroke. Still, great job on this logo!

it's just the execution of the embellishment of the Y that lacks the sophistication of the rest of the design.

try again and nail it and you will have a winner.
