If the mark were rotated so that it had a flat(ish) baseline it would feel like a stylized A. It also needs scaled down as it's too large for the type. And the text would be better served without the color breaks. The mark itself could be quite nice.

LoGo, you actually echoed two of my concerns with it - but the powers that be "decided" that the colour breaks in the text happen, and the original logo was actually horizontal, with the text a lot more prominent. Thanks for the comments tho!
