This is fabulous...just beautiful, flowing, and strong. Gorgeous work.

a few too many dots for my taste.

SuckaFish said on Nov. 20 '06

oh wait. i guess you need those. disregard that last post.

gcm said on Nov. 21 '06

imo the symbol is too large. if you'll try to make it smaller, i don't think the logo-type will be legible. but looks nice :D

kaimere said on Nov. 21 '06

Thanks for the comments ... the english in its own way is redundant since the symbol says Cheikh Faye ... and yeah the dots are neccessary ...

bpotstra said on Nov. 21 '06

If the dots are necessary, why not make them the same colour as the darker grey in the symbol and not giving them the embossed look. Otherwise, very interesting, I like it!

unstructure said on Nov. 22 '06

The english isn't really redundant to all of us who don't know arabic. :) A very nice mark.

kaimere said on Nov. 22 '06

no agreed ... thinking too much of the native environment and the client thinking more akin to prince aka symbol

Good work, I like the calligraphy. It reads the name intertwined, very well done.

nic louw said on Nov. 23 '06

The dots could have been more naturally intergrated into the flow by taking them to points - see Nakheel logo, also an arabic logo that says the name of the brand.

i thinkn the dots are better ... as in different styles of caligraphy ... different interpretations... dont you think that many flows would be messy ...

I love this, I showed it to a few friends at work the other day. It's really got a sweet sense of style and art direction. Greatwork.

Thanks Sisu, a great compliment coming from yourself, yourself and raja are two of the best branding guys i have seen in a long time

Lovely Arabic, suprisingly not too hard to read. Colour combination is also very lovely.
