You should try having the bubbles come out of the "b". The "b" looks like a scuba mask shape with the snorkel.

maybe make the bubbles strokes consistent and yeah, maybe the "a" is not the best letter for the snorkle mask?

Totally agree that you should use the b. Then you've got natural mask/snorkel combo. Don't force the a when you've got the perfect shaping waiting for you.

S is probably even better you can use the negative space of the bottom part of the S as a mouth and place the snorkel in there.
