Great idea, Glen. That's a really cool effect. I almost feel as if the enclosure/pixels would work better as a mark though. Something about how the 'dcip' is sitting in the enclosure doesn't feel right. Did you try having the 'dcip' on the same angle? Either way, I can see this working well as a mark. One other nit-picky thing, the green/red colors may not be saturated enough. Kind of muted right now. Do you hate me yet? :-P
@ oc: I already hated you. This changes nothing. But you have good points as usual :-)
Saturation can for sure be addressed. The enclosure on this one is an effort to create a more "label" like approach that can be applied to hardware etc. The enclosure is 16x9 cinema aspect ratio (albeit skewed). But exploring it as a stand alone mark has merit. I'll keep this one too.
@ clash: I'm liking the juxtaposition: part of it exists in Z space and part of it doesn't. It's not logical.
Would like both of your comments on the other 2 versions. Thanks guys!
i agree, i love the two planes, looks like the type is coming out of the screen. Couldnt really see the RGB, at the very front, id swap the green pixel with the red. Great job.
I'm starting to get the enclosure now and I agree with Clash and Hello. At first, I didn't notice the type looking as if it was coming out of the screen. I wish there was a way to make that more pronounced. But now that I see it, sweet!! Diggin' the color update too. Hells yeah!!
With every single one of your logos in the gallery, I'd think you'd be humble. But maybe that's just the words of an old codger who doesn't understand youth :D
Hey look every logo doesn't have to have some hidden negative space or be fancifully designed, sometimes, a solid foundation and simplicity is all you need. Hobbs has got more experience real world in his left pinky than most of us do in our whole body. Have you seen some of the logos in his showcase? Pretty much all of them for real clients, not just slapping some words together and throwing your best art at it, but real thought process into how the identity serves the client.
Ignore the name and judge the work. Which is exactly what I do on this site. Honest critique I will consider and respond to. But I will not apologize for being a liked and/or favored designer. I've worked hard for 20 years for that honor. So I appreciate a venue for recognition such as this one that David provides.
P.S. Your work is quite beautiful creation. Your resentment...not so much.
@creationl2logo, every single logo you have uploaded is in the gallery... should I call it favoritism and delete some? No that's absurd, so is saying, since 3, 4 or 5 logos from one designer go in, in a row that somehow precludes others or 'more deserving' logos from getting in. There's no limit to how many and whose logos get to go in. This month is record setting, almost double any previous month for inclusions.
Also there are 11 of us who have the ability to add logos to the gallery. How do you even know it was me who added them all? (I did, but just saying :D) If someone deserving is not represented, email me some links, I've ALWAYS said that. Several users do this all the time. Then its up to my discretion whether to add them or not.
Every single logo that 'deserves' to get in the gallery wont always make it for various reason, but rest assured noone is being glossed over, purposely left in the cold or not included in lue of any peoples work. The only favorites I have, are good work, often times I don't even know the designer's whose work I'm adding, because the inclusion buttons are all over the place for me, I can add work to the gallery from various places and the whos don't really matter to me.
If you see multiple inclusions from one artist in a row, its because I either was already looking at their gallery or for whatever reason from wherever on the site I was looking their logos were next to each other :D
