yeah i think so. could you remove the light grey sections altogether and just suggest the camera with negative space created by the initials? if not just experiment with colour schemes, also id elongate the tail of the y so its the same width as the tail of the t.

While I think the idea is clever, I would personally have 'TY Photography' in full text underneath the mark. Perhaps a faux 3D treatment on the camera would be cool, with the 'T' and 'Y' being a complimentary colour to the rest of the mark?

Very original for such a simple shape. I don't see the TY but I like it as a symbol anyway. Nice design.
