Took me a bit to see the angle, but once you do, this immediately becomes a very clever logo!

I like it. I saw the trajectory of a golf ball landing on a fairway, which also works very well.

There are many kinds. In Amarillo however this "style":http://www.flickr.com/photos/alexrumford/374289628/ is common.
