Intelligent visual pun. Work the kerning, especially between the a and v. I might simplify the apple stem and leaf area. I was going to ask about the red g as well.

thanks a lot grubedoo. I haven't noticed the a and v up until now thanks for poiting it out. I'll definitely work on the leaf and stem.

thanks cpignatelli, the drop-shadow might not be necessary I'll see how it looks without it.

gosh, you could almost make the lower part of the "g" (the negative space) an apple as if it was pulling or hanging for gravity, just a thought.

It needs the drop shadow or other wise it'd resemble the Apple mark too much.

love the concept. i think the apple's shadow is needed to show it's not floating in space, but would probably make the highlight in the apple a bit more prominent so it looks more dimensional

Outstanding concept and execution. This mark just goes to show that all those "web 2.0" logos out there are missing the mark. A good logo doesn't need bevels, reflections or extraneous drop shadows. Well done.

fauxpeanut I did try with the red apple but I went with black because it stood out more.
