I think you hit the mark, dache. It's simple and elegant, yet it has this crazy neon glow thing going. It fits the clients (effects) industry spot on.

Unfortunately, KATABATICDIGITAL is too long and somehow it irritates the eye. Maybe you could try a bigger contrast between the two words (Black & Light or Thin) or move the digital below the KATABATIC?
