Very good work with this. I'm not a fan of the non-aligned baseline in this typeface, but a stellar job nonetheless.

Well, Dale I hate to admit it because I'm a big fan of your work BUT the connector between the u and s bugs the heck outta me. I know your a type designer yourself that's what's got me scratchin my head. I mean it looks like a long stroke and forced one. I guess it's just not my cup a tea.

really, it looks like a font I've seen before. is it hand drawn? I hand draw fonts myself, but then I don't want to take the time in fontographer to create them, though I have created 3 fonts in the past. Or is this a combination of letters from different fonts? I know I have a font with that 's' in it.

nah, it is hand drawn and then redrawn in illustrator. i can assure you you do not have a font with THAT s in it. ;)

I guess so, that looks a lot like the lowercase s in Bellevue, and like the one in Bolero, I have around 20,000 fonts, so I have that s somewhere, I 'm sure. ;)

For what you are triing to accomplish it works well. And I think the non-aligned base line helps this. Although I agree with logomotive that the stroke between the "u" and "s" is a bit long, I see this as a very minor flaw.

macman, i don't quite get what you do not understand about 'this is not a font', but it does not really seem worthwhile for me to put in any more effort in trying to convince you of this when you seem convinced that nobody can design an s with ball terminals without ripping it from an existing font.

payne & logomotive, i agree about the stroke between the u and s.. i will put some work into it.

I understand that it is not a font, and I know since I create fonts from time to time that characters can resemble other characters, I was just pointing out that it looked similar to other S's. and the line between the u and s makes the u look like a w somewhat, I think it may be a good idea to change one of the balls on the 's' to an end similar to that of the ascender on the 'h', probably the ball closer to the top of the s.

I think the curvature of the line between the 'u' and the 's' could just be tweeked a tiny tiny bit to make it look a bit more fluid. I really like the lack of baseline, but the one thing that did jump out at me right away was the space between the 's' and 'h'. I don't think that connecting them would really solve the problem, but being the only letter disconnected from the rest does pull my eye in.
