I like this but I am loosing the tail of the Q a bit. I do have a thought however. What if you made the steps align with the angles of the inner and outer edges of the hexagon?

This is great!! It's nice to see you created a 3D effect with the stairs without having to use gradients. I also like that you chose to use the outline of a cube to show a hexagon. Pretty clever.
