Love the overall logo, but I think the 'BLUFFS' type has let this one down a little. I think a nice slab serif or 'western' style font would have made this logo 'mickey mouse'

Indeed, a western font would be much better. Maybe you could also change the blue into white.

A western font took it over the edge into cliché. It needed something for balance. Also...tried it in white...wasn't going to work for the application (neon).
