i like this concept also, but needs work, put the tag line under the name, so it reads Golf Republic, golf, food, drink, and make the golf ball vector, looks like you have a raster ball r you used some vectorizing software on a raster ball, just draw it out in flatter less detailed tones to match the rest of the design.


I'd also move the black glass outline to the left and put the ball on the bottom hole edge so it looks almost like ice in the glass

Indeed, this is more like raw sketch than the logo. I'll find some time to finish it...
The ball is vector too but in small size it looks realy bad. The idea is that it should look like slice of lemmon, but I like your suggestion to make it look like ice.
Btw, I don't understand the part with moving glass outline (golf club) to the left.
