I have an idea for this. Rather than putting the word "plus" between the 2 twos, use the negative space to create a " " sign.

I'd also say that since you're so close to using the primary colors you should just use the primary colors; replace the green with blue and make the yellow more pure (if you choose not to make the negative space into a plus sign).
