I like the concept, but your logo would look better if the type is all one color.

Also, what if you incorporate one more hexagonal shape into it, so that it forms the end points of the letter Z with the line running through them also in the dark blue. (this idea seems a little too abstract), but you can give it a shot!

This has the potential to be a great logo.
The concept is sound but the mark needs tidying up. Correct the angles of the snowflake 'arms', lose the grad and improve the shading.
The typo needs completely reworking as it is difficult to read. Take a look at Rob Scully's Ironmen logo.

Have you tried dark blue type, possibly upper and lowercase?

i will have to totally rework the type. For now i'm using this font (cronos) just to fully demonstrate the mark. I guess i will have to draw the type myself to make it look less formal. In any case i doubt i will use any stock typeface.
