Thanks ideoma! More info about the mission here: http://www.szymonkowalczyk.com/aktualny-projekt
Although it's in Polish, you can watch a short clip made by Polish teenagers.
The mark is nice...especially after you notice the books. The type needs work though, in my opinion. Is it just me, or is the C too thick and doesn't seem to match the other letters?
I'm glad you like it! As for the font, I agree it is the biggest disadvantage of this logo, however, the logo will also support other missions in other parts of Africa so I had to plan for it too.
All of the images were placed intentionally:
The Continent: this is the most clear and obvious element
Teenager face: Teenager is looking up, asking for help or praying (The mission is supported by the Catholic Church).
Books: They symbolize education and point to the targeted region.
Zebra stripes: The mission is also a great adventure for those who help and is very rewarding.

this is really a strong mark! am in love ! good luck!
Yes, it's similar to the poster from 2007, however, I took the inspiration from a different source. Initially, I designed the continent with the elephant shape included in it. This concept obviously didn't match the idea of the mission, in which adventure aspect is the least important, so I redesigned the mark replacing the elephant with the human face. I've seen the poster before submitting the logo and I think the similarity is acceptable. What's your opinion?

This is a fantastic piece no matter where the inspiration came from. With billions of people one person won't be the only to see a face in Africa's shape. The fact that you manage to work in FOUR different concepts into one logo is brilliant.
Thanks again for your comments. I hope that next year the mission will succeed. If not I'm willing to adapt this logo for another charity organization.
